Valentine's Day Poem

by: Lars Peterson

Alright there, sweetie pie,
You've stolen my heart in a Shanghai.
I stood there wearing the jacket of a tough guy,
But you saw right through my alibi.
I'm glad you didn't just slip by,
Like a plate of spuds with one small fry…
Instead, you became my strongest ally,
Thereby enhancing the azul in my blue sky.
I don't know why, sometimes I cry,
But then you open my third eye.
Suddenly I'm tripping, like I'm wearing a tye-dye,
And the universe speaks to me in hi-fi.
Now I'm on cloud 9, waiting for you to come by,
I've got the glider ready, so you and I can fly high.
Sometimes my rhymes can kind of be a tongue-tie,
But if you get in trouble, I will be your fall guy.
I can rally troops, and demonstrate my war cry,
Like Cupid set his sights on me, and then he hit the bullseye.
Your love is healthy, like a five-star plate of Thai,
You make me see fireworks like the Fourth of July.
You make me see Jehovah, like a Jewish Rabbi.
I want to infiltrate your love, like an English spy,
And confiscate your love, and all it can supply.
I'm somewhat shy, and not that sly, and yet I want to try
To touch the inside of your thigh, and sigh.
My oh my.
I love you, and you love I,
Happy Valenti
XOXOXO
